Having joined a local Evansville band called “Drk Wtr”, I was lucky enough to have met future Wilburs drummer Andy Mitchell.

Since then, Andy has become my right hand man and devoted trustee in steering this clunker.

Matched in rhythm by no other, Andy proved his love and everlasting devotion to me by simply learning the material and paying me both literally and metaphorically (although in pennies, thank you spotify).

All kidding aside, this band wouldn’t be the same without him and we are grateful to have this ass kicker behind the kit for us. He endorses Saluda Cymbals and 7drums.

Having met Noah in July 2024, I knew he would be a perfect fit alongside me and Andy.

Not only can the man make even the brownest note sound gorgeous, he’s a killer dude with good humor to match.

a sound in mind…

Wilburs started in early 2022 as an outlet for a very specific sound and liking to acoustic guitars that I had acquired through my years of music making.

Predominately recording electronic music for most of my teenage years, I had yearned to make a project for simple and from the heart music that meant a lot to me. As a young child, an acoustic guitar was never too far away, and every now and then I’d splice together my interests of electronic music and acoustic music and I’d love the result.

In 2019, under my electronic music moniker Chromosome Homes, I self-released the ep “Antedeluvian”, which would serve as the precursor to Wilburs, sharing musical qualities and themes. I’ve always held that record close to my heart and when it came to forming Wilburs, it influenced a lot of what I wanted to do.
